First Conditional en Inglés: Primer Condicional

First Conditional / Primer Condicional

First Conditional (quite likely) If it rains, I will not go to school.
Estructura If + Simple Present Will / Won't + Base Form

Afirmativa: If you study, you will learn.

Afirmativa (cláusulas invertidas): You will learn if you study.

Negativa: If I don't pass my exam, I will be sad.

Además de will/won't, la Main Clause también puede usar can, may, might o un imperativo:

Main Clause English Español
can + Base Form If it rains, you can stay here. Si llueve, puedes quedarte aquí.
may + Base Form If you study, you may pass. Si estudias, puede que apruebes.
might + Base Form If he calls, I might answer. Si él llama, puede que conteste.
Imperativo If you see her, call me. Si la ves, llámame.

Errores comunes

❌ Incorrecto ✅ Correcto
If it will rain, I will not go to school. If it rains, I will not go to school.
If you study, you learn. If you study, you will learn.
If I will win the lottery, I will buy a house. If I win the lottery, I will buy a house. (mismo error: "if" nunca lleva "will", sin importar cuán probable sea la condición)
If it rain, I will stay home. If it rains, I will stay home. (con he/she/it, el verbo en la cláusula con "if" lleva la -s de tercera persona, como cualquier Presente Simple)
If it rains, I will to stay home. If it rains, I will stay home. (después de "will" el verbo va en base form, sin "to")

Notas adicionales

If it rains, I will stay home (es totalmente posible que llueva) frente a If I won the lottery, I would travel (poco probable) — elegir el condicional correcto depende de qué tan realista es la condición.

If it rains, you can stay here (posibilidad/permiso) o If you see her, call me (instrucción) son tan válidos como usar "will".
